ENG: In the speech he gave on 29 October 1933, the tenth anniversary of the Republic of Turkey (The Tenth Year Speech), Kemal Atatürk emphasised that thenceforth Turkish national culture would be developed, positive sciences and fine arts would be studied and worked on and this would be achieved in a short period not with the lax Ottoman mentality, but with the new hardworking Turkish generation that has embraced science. His words "The Turkish nation is hardworking! The Turkish nation is intelligent!" have had an extraordinary impact on the nation's self-confidence and are a reminder that Atatürk has devoted his whole life to the Turkish nation.
TR: Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, 29 Ekim 1933’te, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluşunun onuncu yıl dönümünde yaptığı ve tarihe 'Onuncu Yıl Nutku' olarak geçen meşhur konuşmada, Türk milli kültürünün yükseltileceğine, Türk Milleti’nin artık pozitif bilimlere ve güzel sanatlara ağırlık vereceğine ve bunların Osmanlı’nın gevşetici zihniyeti ile değil, bilimi benimsemiş, çalışkan, yeni bir Türk nesli ile kısa sürede gerçekleştirileceğine vurgu yaptı. Türk milletini, bunu yapabilecek kudrette olduğuna inandırmak için içtenlikle söylediği "Türk milleti çalışkandır! Türk milleti zekidir!" sözü, milletin özgüveninin gelişimine muazzam katkı sağlamış ve onun yaşamının tamamını milletine adamış olduğu gerçeğinin hafızalardan silinmesini önlemiştir.
